We are really locals now

You know you are a local when your almost 3 year old eats her noodles with chopsticks! In fact, she is more adept at chopstick eating than her grandparents who are here visiting!

Better today

well, the good news is she is better. We took JD to the vet yesterday and they did agree that she was blue and was not getting her breath. We don't know why. No increased arythmia... no apparent heart attack... but they put her on oxygen for about 30 minutes and then she was better. Back to her old lady happy self. But, it was quite a scare. We don't know what happened or why- I did not sleep at all last night cause I was worried she would have another attack.

Today, she is sleeping well, breathing better than she has in a couple of weeks, happy and content.

I read a blog by a gal who just lost her Bailey (a golden) and she gave me advice to love up JD extra special, treat every day with her as it is very important and I think I will do just that (after I take a nap!)

JD is really sick

I post this because I am not sure how much longer my beloved dog JD will be with me. She is starting to have problems breathing. I am taking her to the vet today at 4:30 for shots for her hips, but it is her shallow breathing that concerns me the most. She is a bit blue today which means she is not getting enough oxygen to her system. I am about to do some research-so I can go to the vet prepared. But I really fear I won't have her around much longer.

Love

A belated (for those of us in Singapore) Valentines wish...

From Donna's Blog

Marriage is love.

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans...

Re-post this if you believe in legalizing gay marriage. Happy Valentine's Day.

A bit of history

So, in my never ending quest to organize my life, really it is never ending because I am a slob at heart, I finally scanned a bunch of my college pictures. It was quite a walk down memory lane.

Here are just a few for your viewing pleasure. Boy I was young.....

One reoccuring theme to note... I was drunk in 99% of these pictures. It is a wonder my liver survived.

Also note a few guys that I had major crushes on.....I looked back at these pictures and wonder how different my life would have been if I had not married so young (the first time) had I not drank so much, had I been more active in the sorority, had I realized then what I do now, which is my self worth is not related to what others think of me.

But, all told, my life is pretty good now. So, I must have done somethings right.
